How come the house?

Some of you have written and ask how the life insurance worked out in the end - it didn't. Instead, we're renting the house from the 1st of December (next Thursday - amazing...) for a couple of months. We'll buy it after that - although in a slightly unorthodox fashion. We are feeling incredibly fortunate to be able to do this.

We've already bought the lights for the tree in the garden, and this will give Kirstin a place to go home to each night during the time I'm in Grenoble. Two good friends are coming during this period while I'm in Grenoble, so Kirstin will be chauffered to and fro! Of course, we do have to sort out the small matter of a car to enable this, but all in good time (or at most 14 days).
