Sorted - and earlier than expected!

We met the owners of Pré Borel and the notaire tonight, and signed a bizarre document that permits us to move in on the 1st of December - in 9 days! The truck is loading up in England as we speak (with our bedraggled house plants amongst everything else) and all the dominoes are lined up.

This is great news for us - it will give us almost two weeks before the op (http://myacousticneuroma.blogspot.com) and so things should be a little more settled. Pardon me if I don't write more - we're going out for dinner to celebrate!
