Emptying the Boatie Rows

Our (slightly larger than last time) yellow removal lorry
It took about 45 minutes for our removal lorry to make the last 200m of their trip to Cellardyke this morning - despite my traffic cones (borrowed from the police) and letter to all the neighbours, things were still pretty tight. But they made it, and in about 8 hours cleared almost three floors! Just the kitchen and the basement remain for tomorrow morning.
They were planning on taking the lorry away overnight, but there is a car further along the road that blocks them, so they're sleeping outside (3 berths in the cab) and, I suspect, taking advantage of the local publicans.
The house is not exactly clean, but certainly empty - it all seems so much larger again! I spent the day doing some of the items I didn't trust them with (stereo etc) but Kirstin had a much better idea: she went to the pool and hung out with some friends.
So tomorrow they clear up and out, which leaves Saturday for cleaning. A number of friends are planning on coming over to help, (and lend us vacuum cleaners), which'll be great.
Then a final dinner at the Cellar for us as conclusion to our life in Scotland, a relaxing Sunday morning, and 3pm checkin at the ferry terminal. Yahoo!
